External Affairs Minister’s visited to Bhutan (June 07-08, 2019)

New Delhi: External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar visited to Bhutan on 07-08 June, 2019. That was the Dr. Jaishankar’s first visit abroad as the External Affairs Minister and reflects the importance that India attaches to its bilateral relationship with Bhutan, a close friend and neighbour.

During the visit, External Affairs Minister is expected to receive audience with H.M. Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, the King of Bhutan; call-on Lyonchhen Dr. Lotay Tshering, Prime Minister of Bhutan; and meet his counterpart Lyonpo Dr. Tandi Dorji, Foreign Minister of Bhutan.

India and Bhutan share a unique and time tested bilateral relationship, characterized by utmost trust, goodwill and mutual understanding. During the visit, the two sides will discuss entire gamut of bilateral relations, including the upcoming high-level exchanges, economic development and hydro-power cooperation.
