New Delhi: A delegation headed by Smt. Sushma Swaraj, External Affairs Minister (EAM) paid an official visit to Lao PDR on 22-23 November, 2018.
EAM was co-chairing the 9th Meeting of India – Lao PDR Joint Commission on Bilateral Cooperation with her counterpart H.E Saleumxay Kommasith, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Lao PDR. The two sides was reviewing the entire gamut of bilateral cooperation covering areas of Defence, Development Partnership, Agriculture, Trade & Investment, Education & Culture, Science & IT, Energy & Mining, Transport and Natural Resources & Environment.
EAM was called on the Prime Minister of Lao PDR H.E. Thongloun Sisoulith. EAM’s other engagements would include an interaction with the representatives of the Indian community in Lao PDR.
The Joint Commission meeting and other engagements of EAM will further enhance the cooperation between the two countries in various areas.
