Please give us an overview of Polymatech’s new PCB manufacturing facility in Estonia.
What drove this strategic move, and what does the facility bring to the table?
The launch of our Estonia facility in the name of “Brandner Electronics OU” is more than an expansion—it’s a strategic commitment to Europe’s advanced technology ecosystem and to building greater technological sovereignty. The demand for high-reliability, multilayer PCBs is growing rapidly across sectors like defence, aerospace, telecom, automotive, semiconductors, and premium electronics.
These are industries where performance, reliability, and supply chain resilience are non-negotiable.
We chose Estonia for its strong industrial base, highly skilled workforce, and innovation driven environment. Being in the EU allows us to serve European customers with shorter lead times and reduced dependency on imports, while also strengthening global supply chains. Technically, this plant is equipped with advanced systems capable of producing around 12,500 square meters of HDI boards annually, supporting up to 48 layers. That puts us among a small group of global players able to manufacture such complex PCB architectures at scale. Beyond capacity, our focus is on flexibility, traceability, and reliability— ensuring we meet the toughest standards of mission-critical industries.
Establishing such a sophisticated operation must have come with its challenges. What were some of the key hurdles you encountered during the setup?
Restarting an existing plant gave us a strong foundation, particularly with a highly skilled workforce already in place. But the real challenge was not just restarting—it was transforming the facility into a state-of-the-art hub capable of supporting next-generation applications.
This requires significant investments in advanced equipment, fine-line process technologies, and optimization to consistently deliver the precision demanded by the aerospace, defense, and semiconductor industries. Ensuring repeatable quality as complexity increases is never easy.
To stay ahead, we’ve partnered closely with universities and key suppliers, embedding innovation and continuous improvement directly into our operations.
In short, the challenge was evolving beyond the status quo—scaling capacity while future proofing capabilities. Today, the Estonia facility is positioned not just as a production site, but as a forward-looking innovation hub.

How does this new facility change Polymatech’s positioning in the global electronics and PCB supply chain?
This facility significantly strengthens our role in the global supply chain. By adding advanced HDI and build-up substrate capabilities, we are supporting the future of semiconductors and advanced packaging. With an established base in Europe, we can now offer secure,
sustainable, and regionally diversified sourcing—something global customers increasingly value.
It’s about more than geography. This investment reduces dependency on long supply chains and allows us to provide faster, more reliable responses. It positions Polymatech as not only a manufacturer, but also a strategic partner in ensuring supply chain resilience for critical industries worldwide.
Speaking of sustainability, how is Polymatech addressing environmental responsibility at the Estonia plant?
Sustainability is central to the design and operation of our Estonia facility. We have invested, and will continue to invest, in energy-efficient systems, closed-loop water recycling, and advanced effluent treatment solutions to minimize our environmental footprint. Waste reduction, particularly in material and chemical handling, is a top priority.
We also work with suppliers who share our environmental commitments, ensuring responsibility runs through the entire value chain. Being based in the EU means we not only comply with stringent environmental regulations but actively embrace them as part of our innovation culture. For us, sustainability and technology go hand in hand.
Looking ahead, what are the next steps in Polymatech’s roadmap for this facility?
Our roadmap is built on three pillars: scale, innovation, and leadership. In the near term, We’re focused on scaling production capacity and broadening our product portfolio to serve a wider range of industries.
Looking further ahead, we’re investing in R&D around embedded components, substrate-like PCBs, and ultra- high-frequency materials. These technologies will define the next era of electronics, and our Estonia plant is being developed as the platform to support them.
Ultimately, our ambition is for the facility to evolve from a manufacturing hub into Europe’s leading centre for PCB innovation and advanced packaging.
