Interview with Mr. Hemanshoo Aggarwal, Export Director, AS International

Hemanshoo Aggarwal AS International interview

AS International deals in both food and nonfood products.  Which product categories do you see having the highest growth potential in international markets, and why?

Global Market Potential Across Diverse Product Categories Drawing on our experience across AI & Electronics, Beauty Care,  Pharmaceuticals, Agriculture, Health & Wellness, Packaged &  Frozen Foods, Medical Devices, Home Products, and other emerging  categories, we recognize that market potential varies significantly by  product category and target geography.

In international markets, both Food and Non-Food categories have  established and attractive opportunities. Food products typically  benefit from stable, recurring demand, high consumption frequency,  and large-volume markets. Non-Food categories, meanwhile, can offer  stronger growth and margin potential, particularly where technology,  innovation, premiumization, and changing consumer lifestyles are  driving demand.

Ultimately, the attractiveness of any category depends on a combination  of market size, consumer demand, growth prospects, margins,  competitive intensity, regulatory environment, and scalability. A  successful international expansion strategy therefore requires selecting  the right product category for the right market—and aligning it with  consumer needs, local market dynamics, and long-term business  potential.

Beyond supplying products, whatkey services does AS  International provide to overseas customers, such as sourcing,  quality control, logistics, or market support?

Exporting Quality, Importing Trust

We believe in “Exporting Quality, Importing Trust.” Our sourcing and  procurement approach is built around delivering high-quality products  at competitive prices, while meeting specific customer requirements  and customization needs.

We provide comprehensive customization solutions, including private  labeling, customized designs, product specifications, and premium  packaging, ensuring that every product is aligned with the customer’s  brand identity and target market.

Quality Control & Compliance

Quality is at the core of our operations. Our experienced engineers  and laboratory technicians conduct regular inspections and testing  throughout the production process. Products are evaluated against the  applicable quality and regulatory standards of the destination country,  ensuring consistency, reliability, and compliance before shipment.

Logistics, Packaging & Container Management

Our experienced logistics and packaging teams ensure that products  are properly prepared and securely packed for international  transportation. Whether shipments are handled through consolidated  containers or full-container loads, we pay close attention to packaging,  container loading, and damage during transit and ensure that products reach the destination  port in excellent condition.

Market-Focused Approach

We understand that product quality goes beyond manufacturing  standards—it must also meet the expectations of the market and end  consumer. Therefore, we carefully consider market requirements,  product presentation, packaging, and customer preferences throughout  the sourcing and supply process.

Our commitment does not end with delivery. We actively seek post sales feedback from our customers to understand market response  and continuously improve our products and services. This customer centric approach enables us to build long-term relationships and  generate repeat business.

Expanding into New Industries

As part of our upcoming expansion in the Caribbean region, we are  entering the construction products and pharmaceutical sectors. Our  pharmaceutical business will operate under the name “Bliss Pharma,”  with a focus on delivering reliable, quality-driven products that meet  applicable market and regulatory requirements.

Our vision is to build sustainable international partnerships by  combining quality, competitive sourcing, rigorous quality control,  efficient logistics, customized solutions, and trusted after-sales support—creating value for our customers at every stage of the supply chain.

Based on your experience, what are the biggest opportunities  for Indian exports to Trinidad & Tobago, and are there any  T&T products that you see having strong potential in the India  market?

Trinidad & Tobago: An Business Gateway to the Caribbean Based on our experience and market observations, Trinidad & Tobago  represents a growing and potentially attractive market for international  businesses, particularly in sectors such as pharmaceuticals,  construction products, agricultural products and chemicals, renewable  energy, and tourism.

Beyond its domestic market, Trinidad & Tobago has the potential  to serve as a regional business and distribution hub for the wider  Caribbean. Its strategic position and established industrial and  commercial infrastructure can provide opportunities for companies to  manufacture, process, distribute, and export products to neighbouring  Caribbean markets. For this reason, establishing manufacturing  or value-added operations in Trinidad & Tobago could become an  attractive long-term opportunity for businesses looking to expand  their presence across the Caribbean.

There are also promising opportunities in bilateral trade between  Trinidad & Tobago and India. From Trinidad & Tobago to India,  areas such as cocoa and cocoa-based products, Trinidadian red chilli,  alcoholic beverages, and tourism could offer interesting possibilities.  At the same time, Indian companies could explore opportunities in  Trinidad & Tobago across pharmaceuticals, construction materials,  agricultural inputs, chemicals, renewable energy solutions, and other  value-added products.

Looking ahead, the opportunity extends beyond simple import and  export. Building partnerships, establishing local manufacturing or  processing capabilities, and using Trinidad & Tobago as a gateway to  the wider Caribbean could create significant long-term commercial  potential.

For Indian businesses seeking international expansion, Trinidad & Tobago could therefore be viewed not only as a market in its own right, but as a strategic gateway to the broader Caribbean region.
