UAE Ambassador met Ms. Mamta Verma – Industries Commissioner, Govt of Gujarat regarding 9th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2019, from the 18th to 20th of January at Mahatma Mandir, Gujarat

New Delhi: Ms. Mamta Verma, Industries Commissioner, Govt of Gujarat met UAE Ambassador Dr. Ahmed Albanna at Ambassadors Office, New Delhi.

Both the sides discussed, that the ongoing economic relations between the UAE and India have a strong potential for further development, given the common desire of their leaders as well as their private sectors to sustain the momentum of their successful Bilateral Trade and Investment Activities.

Ms. Verma explained to the Ambassador that the Vibrant Gujarat Summit was conceptualized in 2003 by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India and the then Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat, Mr. Narendra Modi, to re-establish Gujarat as a preferred investment destination within India. Today, the Summit has evolved into a platform for brainstorming on agendas of global socio-economic development, in addition to being a facilitator for knowledge sharing and forging effective partnerships.

Ms. Verma informed the Ambassador that  last year, 8th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, held in January 2017, witnessed participation from 25,000+ delegates from 100+ countries, including 4 Heads of States, Nobel Laureates, Captains of global industry and Thought Leaders. And UAE being a partner country has opened doors for lot of avenues. She further commended the achievements of leading UAE companies investing in India reflected the swift development of economic relations between the two countries.

H.E. Dr. Albanna said Indo-UAE relations have reached an extraordinary level of friendship and bonhomie between both the Ministers has developed deep personal rapport, as was on display during their meetings. The two sides have been working to realize the goals of forging a strong strategic partnership through regular exchange of visits, improve bilateral trade and investments, greater understanding of security concerns and vulnerabilities and readiness to harness on the momentum created due to greater political understanding.

He concluded by adding that the bilateral relations between the UAE and India are unique and distinctive, following its long history and strong ties based on mutual respect and common interests. Events like these will further enhance them.
