New Delhi: External Affairs Minister of India, H.E. Dr. S. Jaishankar paid an official visit to Kyrgyz Republic, Kazakhstan and Armenia from 10-13 October 2021.
EAM visited Kyrgyz Republic on 10-11 October. This was his first visit to the country as External Affairs Minister. He held a bilateral meeting with the Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan apart from called on the President of Kyrgyz Republic. Some agreements / MoUs were signed during the visit.
From 11-12 October, EAM visited Kazakhstan to attend the 6th Ministerial meeting of the Conference of Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) in Nur-Sultan. Kazakhstan is the current Chair and initiator of the CICA Forum. EAM held bilateral talks with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan and called on the Kazakh leadership.
EAM visited Armenia on 12-13 October. This was the first ever-visit of an External Affairs Minister of India to independent Armenia. He met with his Armenian counterpart as well as called on the Prime Minister and President of the National Assembly of Armenia.
The visit provided an opportunity for reviewing the progress in our bilateral ties with the three countries as well as share views on developments in the region. It continued of our increased engagement with countries in our ‘extended neighbourhood’.
