New Delhi: Foreign Minister of Eritrea H.E. Mr. Osman Saleh Mohammed, along with Presidential Adviser H. E. Mr. Yemane Gebreab, visited India from April 7-12, 2021 at the invitation of External Affairs Minister of India H.E. Dr. S. Jaishankar. Both the dignitaries have visited India several times in the past, the last one being on the occasion of the 3rd India-Africa Forum Summit in October 2015.
The two Foreign Ministers had a very productive meeting. The Eritrean Foreign Minister apprised the External Affairs Minister of the development priorities of his Government and sought India’s active collaboration, especially in the fields of agriculture, fisheries, education, health care, mining, manufacturing, renewable energy and infrastructure development. They agreed to strengthen sectoral engagement through an action oriented agenda to deepen cooperation for mutual benefit. They also exchanged views on regional and international issues.
Foreign Minister of Eritrea met National Security Adviser Mr. Ajit Doval for discussions on regional developments and security cooperation.
Foreign Minister Osman Saleh was visited the All Indian Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), and had interaction with Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), Pharmaceutical Export Promotion Council (Pharmexcil) and representatives of Indian ICT, telecommunications, mining and energy companies during his visit to India.
