Visit of Minister of State for External Affairs of India to Gambia and Senegal (1-5 November 2021)

New Delhi: Minister of State (MoS) for External Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs Mr. V. Muraleedharan paid an official visit to the Republic of The Gambia and to the Republic of Senegal from 1-5 November 2021. This was his first visit to both the countries.

During his visit to The Gambia from 1-2 November 2021, MoS had a bilateral meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians abroad Dr. Mamadou Tangara apart from called on the President of the Republic of The Gambia H.E. Mr. Adama Barrow. Some agreements / MoUs were signed during the visit. MoS were also interacted with the Indian community in The Gambia.

During his visit to Senegal from 4-5 November 2021, MoS was Co-Chaired the Third India-Senegal Joint Commission Meeting (JCM), with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Senegalese abroad Mrs. Aissata Tall Sall. MoS were called on President of the Republic of Senegal H.E. Mr. Macky Sall. During the visit, MoS was also met Minister of Armed Forces Mr. Sidiki Kaba and other dignitaries. Some agreements / MoUs were signed during the visit. He was addressed the Indian Community in Dakar.

India enjoys warm, friendly and cordial relations with The Gambia and Senegal. Over the years, India has been at the forefront in capacity building of the youth of The Gambia and Senegal. The visit of MoS helped in sustaining the momentum in our bilateral ties with both these countries.
