Visit of Prime Minister of Mauritius to India (April 17-24, 2022)

At the invitation of Prime Minister of India, H.E. Mr. Narendra Modi, The Hon’ble Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, Prime Minister of Mauritius, accompanied by his spouse Mrs. Kobita Jugnauth and a high-level delegation, visited to India from 17 to 24 April 2022.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of WHO Global Centre for Traditional Medicine in Jamnagar, Gujarat in the presence of Mauritius Prime Minister, H.E. Mr. Pravind Kumar Jugnauth and H.E. Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director General.

The visiting dignitaries participated in the Ground-Breaking Ceremony of the WHO-Global Centre for Traditional Medicine in Jamnagar on 19 April and the Global Ayush Investment and Innovation Summit in Gandhinagar on 20 April, along with the Prime Minster of India.

Apart from official engagements in Gujarat and New Delhi, the Prime Minister of Mauritius also visited to Varanasi during the visit.

India and Mauritius enjoy uniquely close ties, bound by shared history, culture and heritage.
