New Delhi: Hon’ble Vice President of India, H.E. Mr.M. Venkaiah Naidu was visited Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia from 17th-21st August 2019. The Vice President was accompanied by a high-level delegation including Shri Sanjay Shamrao Dhotre, Minister of State for HRD, Communications and Electronics & Information Technology, Smt. Ranee Narah, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha , Shri Manas Ranjan Bhunia, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, Shri Ramesh Bidhuri, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha and senior officers of the Government of India.
India and Baltic countries have historical connect and common linguistic roots. The cutting edge technology and innovation ecosystems of the Baltic countries complement India’s huge market and appetite for these technologies. Hon’ble VP’s visit was the first ever high level visit to the three Baltic countries .The visit takes place in the context of increasing political engagement, as well as intensified trade and commercial engagement.
Lithuania (17-19 August, 2019)
India and Lithuania relations are based on mutual trust, understanding and support to each other on issues of core interest. Hon’ble Vice President of India was arrived in Vilnius, Lithuania on 17th August. He had detailed bilateral meetings with President of Lithuania, H.E. Gitanas Nauseda and was met Mr Viktoras Pranckietis, Speaker of the Seimas ( Lithuanian Parliament) . During the visit, he was also interacted with Indian community and addressed the India-Lithuania Business Forum.
