New Delhi: During the visit wide ranging talks were held on bilateral cooperation, regional issues and international affairs. Exchange of high level visits, diversifying the trade basket, prospects of cooperation in space, expansion of defence cooperation, exchange of parliamentary delegations, cultural performances in each other’s countries, promotion of two-way tourist flows were the topics for bilateral cooperation. The two sides also discussed regional and international affairs of mutual interest.
EAM continued her engagements on the second day with a call on the Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Parliament of Uzbekistan. In the meeting with the Speaker, His Excellency Mr. Nurdinjon Ismailov, External Affairs Minister discussed the expansion of bilateral relations in parliamentary affairs, including the exchange of parliamentary delegations.
External Affairs Minister called on the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, H.E. Mr. Shavkat Mirziyoyev. She conveyed greetings from the President and Prime Minister of India to H.E. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and conveyed that the Government and people of India were looking forward to his first visit to India which would be an opportunity for India and Uzbekistan to further strengthen bilateral relationship.
External Affairs Minister’s visit strengthened the traditional close and friendly ties between India and Uzbekistan. The visit also provided an opportunity to discuss a wide spectrum of bilateral issues in the context of the forthcoming visit of H.E., the President of Uzbekistan to India.
